{"id":4429,"date":"2013-05-30T09:17:38","date_gmt":"2013-05-30T15:17:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/summit-education.com\/?p=4429"},"modified":"2013-05-30T09:17:38","modified_gmt":"2013-05-30T15:17:38","slug":"faces-of-stroke","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/devsite.hooliv.com\/blogs\/general\/faces-of-stroke\/","title":{"rendered":"Faces of Stroke"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-size: small;\">To enhance awareness during National Stroke Awareness Month, the National Stroke Association launched the &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.stroke.org\/site\/PageServer?pagename=faces_home\">Faces of Stroke<\/a>&#8221; public awareness campaign in 2011 aimed at showing the personal side of stroke while educating about lifesaving stroke information.\u00a0 Here are some highlights from a few of the stories &#8211; click on the name to read the full story.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: small;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/summit-education.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/stroke1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4431 alignleft\" alt=\"stroke\" src=\"http:\/\/summit-education.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/stroke1.jpg\" width=\"195\" height=\"182\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-size: small;\">\n<ul style=\"font-size: small;\">\n<ul style=\"font-size: small;\">\n<li style=\"font-size: small;\"><strong style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stroke.org\/site\/News2?news_iv_ctrl=4762&amp;page=NewsArticle&amp;id=12471\">Mitchell R.<\/a> &#8211;<\/strong> &#8220;After my stroke at age five, the doctors said I may never walk again; my physical therapist (PT) said &#8220;we&#8217;ll see about that.&#8221;\u00a0 That&#8217;s where my long road to becoming a PT began.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-size: small;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stroke.org\/site\/News2?page=NewsArticle&amp;id=13271&amp;news_iv_ctrl=4764\">Elle R<\/a><\/strong>. &#8211; &#8220;Our daughter Elle survived a stroke at one day old. Had it not been for a random visit to the pediatrician on her third day, the symptoms could have gone unnoticed. She is now four and a half months and working weekly with physical therapists.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-size: small;\"><strong><a style=\"font-size: 14px;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.stroke.org\/site\/News2?news_iv_ctrl=4762&amp;page=NewsArticle&amp;id=12413\">Daniel S.<\/a><\/strong> &#8211;\u00a0 &#8220;My experience enables me to\u00a0 comfort the families of stroke victims as it is happening. My continued goals in life include helping others who have had a stroke to learn to overcome their difficulties, and especially how to have a good emotional and mental outlook on their new lifestyle.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-size: small;\">\n<p style=\"font-size: small;\">Have you or someone you know survived a stroke?
